Rollergeddon: Thames win 117-70

The Forest City Derby Girls' Thames Fatales took on the Derby Debutantes of the GTA Rollergirls' last night, defeating Toronto's travel team 117-70 in the first home bout of the 2009 season.

Highlights included hometown cheering for the Fatales' from the generous crowd, clean and impressive jamming by SufferJet, Anya Face, backed up by Killson, with a game ending jammer showing by Dawn Kashane.

The GTAR Derby Debutantes played their best, but with heavy penalties befalling the team, the Thames Fatales gained an early lead and held on to it throught out the game, dominating the track with clean blocking and good pack control. The Thames take tight cut corners, even on the slippery floor of the Western Fair Canada Building space amazingly, and what's actually sliding looks like crazy style when Anya Face cuts around the track.

A rematch will be on GTA soil on June 6, 2009.
